Volunteering at the Baabaas

Community rugby clubs are built on the support of volunteers. At Casuarina Beach Rugby Club, volunteers help keep the club running smoothly, support our players and families, and bring our community together.

Whether you can help once a season or more regularly, every contribution makes a difference. Volunteering with the club is flexible and there are many ways to get involved depending on your interests, skills, and availability.

You do not need to commit to a full time role. Many volunteers help on a one off basis, occasionally throughout the season, or in a more regular capacity. Every bit of support helps the club thrive.

What You Need to Volunteer

To volunteer with the CBRC, there are a few simple steps to complete.

1. Sign the Club Code of Conduct
All volunteers must agree to follow the club’s Code of Conduct to ensure a safe and respectful environment for everyone.

2. Obtain a Working With Children Check
A valid Working With Children Check is required. This can be completed easily through the Service NSW website. After applying online, you will need to visit a Service NSW centre to finalise the process and receive your certificate.

3. Register as a Volunteer through Rugby Xplorer
All volunteers must be registered through the Rugby Xplorer system.

4. Complete any required accreditation or training
Some roles require additional qualifications. For example, medics must hold a current First Aid certificate and complete the Rugby Concussion Management course through the Rugby Xplorer Learning Centre.

Steps to Register on Rugby Xplorer:

  • Download the app or visit the Rugby Portal and sign in.

  • Navigate to Registration: Click on "Register" (found under the 'More' menu in the app).

  • Choose Role: Select the appropriate role, such as "Volunteer," "Coach," "Manager," or "Match Official".

  • Enter Details: Confirm personal details, add a profile photo, and enter your Working with Children Check (WWCC) number and expiry date.
